Terms of Service
Last updated: 29 May 2026
Plain-English terms for using Plan Your Garden. By using the site, you agree to these.
1. What Plan Your Garden is
Plan Your Garden is a free, UK-focused gardening planner for beginners. It helps you choose plants suited to your space, schedule sowing and harvesting, and remember to water and feed what you've planted.
2. Free to use
Plan Your Garden is free. We earn a small commission when users buy plants or seeds through the affiliate links in the app (see Section 5). You're never required to buy anything.
3. Use at your own risk — gardening advice disclaimer
Plant information in Plan Your Garden is based on standard UK horticultural guidance (RHS, Gardeners' World, Sarah Raven, Thompson & Morgan, Garden Organic) and is provided for general informational purposes only. We don't guarantee accuracy, completeness, or suitability for your specific conditions, soil, microclimate, or garden.
Specifically:
- We're not responsible for crop failures, plant deaths, pest infestations, or financial losses arising from following Plan Your Garden's guidance
- Some plants are toxic. The notes on plants like foxglove, brugmansia, hellebore, and rhubarb leaves mention this, but you must do your own checks if you have children, pets, or allergies in your household. Never eat anything from your garden you can't identify with 100% certainty.
- Allergic reactions and skin irritation can occur with many plants (primulas, euphorbias, hogweed varieties). Wear gloves when in doubt.
- Reminders are best-effort, not guaranteed. Browser notifications can fail. Emails can be delayed or filtered. Don't rely on Plan Your Garden for safety-critical reminders.
4. Your account
You're not required to create an account. If you do sign in:
- You're responsible for keeping the email address used for sign-in secure
- You may not impersonate another person or sign up using someone else's email
- One person per account — accounts can't be shared or transferred
- You can delete your account anytime by emailing rcrooks555@gmail.com
5. Affiliate links
"Buy seeds" and "Buy plant" buttons take you to third-party retailers (Amazon UK). We may earn a commission on purchases. This costs you nothing extra and doesn't affect what you pay.
We don't endorse or guarantee any third-party retailer. Their products, prices, shipping, returns, and customer service are entirely their responsibility. Any disputes are between you and the retailer.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use Plan Your Garden to:
- Attempt to access other users' data
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems without permission
- Send automated requests at a rate likely to disrupt service
- Reverse-engineer the service for the purpose of building a competing commercial product
- Use the service in any way that breaks UK law
We may suspend or terminate access for violations.
7. Intellectual property
The Plan Your Garden name, branding, design, and code are owned by Robbie Crooks. The plant data is original synthesis from publicly available horticultural guidance. You may use the app for personal gardening planning; you may not scrape, copy, or republish the plant database without permission.
8. Service availability
We aim for high uptime but don't guarantee it. The service is provided "as is" and may be down for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control. We're not liable for any loss arising from downtime.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date and announced in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.
10. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by UK law: Plan Your Garden's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to £100. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence, (b) fraud, or (c) anything else that can't be excluded under UK law.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
